Independence
Our editors decide what we publish. Advertisers, sponsors and owners do not decide news coverage. Paid content is always labelled as sponsored or advertorial.
Accuracy and sources
Every story is checked by at least one editor before it is published. We name our sources where we can and explain why when we cannot. Agency copy carries the agency's name.
Fairness
People who are criticised in a story are asked for their reply before it is published, and their answer is included.
Mistakes
When we get something wrong we correct it openly; see our corrections policy.
